One last resolutions post

I know you are all so tired of hearing about new year's resolutions, but I just wanted to add one more post in the mix!

I love resolutions because they give me something to strive for. I don't expect to do them all at once, mostly because I know if I try to tackle them all I'll fail. I've decided to start with the one that will take the most dedication and habit forming: working out 5 days a week and eat healthier (read: less carbs).

This last summer when I decided to take losing weight seriously I lost almost 10 lbs. in 15 days. I'm determined that I can do it again. I started exercising last week and worked out Monday-Saturday. I was so proud of myself for not getting discouraged and I even enjoyed my workouts. But, I also ate Chinese food on New Year's day, Papa John's on Friday and then enjoyed Taco Bell for lunch on Saturday. Now I have actually gained weight since I started working out.

I'm not happy about it. So, I decided that I needed to get back to doing what I did this summer: tracking what I eat. I'm on My Fitness Pal, and honestly it's my favorite weight loss app. I'm one of those people who has to get good grades, so having it tell me I did bad is like the worst thing in the world to me. I can't disappoint it; therefore, I tend to stick to my calorie restrictions (it turns out I shouldn't eat the same portions as my husband who is a foot taller than me).

Basically, what I'm saying is, if you're on My Fitness Pal you should look me up because I need the little extra motivation some days! (@bekahnorton)
