Fitness and health has been on the forefront of my mind for a long time. I'm a pretty short lady so when I gain weight it doesn't have many places to hide. I've always been self conscious of my weight and I've always wanted to be skinnier.

Two summers ago I really decided to take control of my health. I started tracking what I was eating, and working out daily. I lost about 8 lbs. in one month and was so stoked about it.

It was all going really well until I hit a few roadblocks. I had a miscarriage, then I got pregnant again and between being scared about losing my baby for a second time and food aversions (I kid you not, the only thing I could keep down regularly was Taco Bell) a healthy lifestyle just wasn't at the top of my priority list. Then I had a crazy delivery and it's taken me a while to recover and feel like I'm ready to start again.

But after 13 months of not making my health a priority I was determined to get back into shape. In January I made the typical New Years' resolution to get healthy and lose weight and since then I've been slowly tackling my health goals.

January and February were for tracking my eating habits and learning to stick to my calorie goal. March and April have been my movement months. Jason and I have both started going on frequent walks and are participating in other fitness challenges through his work.

I've had to find different ways to stay motivated on my fitness journey. When food was my focus I was learning to cook more so that we didn't have a reason to eat out. Now that exercise is my focus I wanted something to help motivate me to get out and do something. Of course new clothes are my biggest motivator.

I've never really had designated work out clothes that were modest and made me feel good about myself. I've mostly worn old high school t-shirts to work out in and they always made me feel so frumpy, not to mention they're all a little tighter post-partum.

I was really excited when Kosher Casual contacted me and offered to let me try their capri leggings. They are super light weight and comfortable. Perfect for the spring and summer months ahead. I've worn them multiple times around the house and to go for walks in.

While I really like these leggings, I was a little bummed with how thin they were. They're a little more sheer than I would have liked and I wish they were thicker so that I would feel more comfortable wearing them outside of the house. However, I'm a big workout DVD fan (I love anything by Shaun T) and I'm definitely going to keep these leggings in my workout gear rotation when I'm doing at home exercises.

Hopefully having some designated workout clothes will help keep me motivated to reach my goals!

If you're looking for some motivation and want to help motivate me as well, I'm on My FitnessPal (bekahnorton) and Fitbit (Rebekah Norton) feel free to add me and we'll get in shape together!

My leggings, similar shirt, similar shoes.
