My hour at the cemetery

My sister was so kind to inform me that yesterday I left her hanging with my cemetery comment. She wanted to know why I had gone. Since I forgot to take outfit pictures today I figured I would tell you my {hopefully not boring} cemetery story.

I'm taking an advanced media writing class, and my teacher wants us to learn how to use public documents. {I know this is sounding boring but stick with me}

To do this my class will be doing an awaken the dead assignment. We traveled to the cemetery yesterday as a class to "connect" with someone who died at least 50 years ago.

I "connected" with Karl Wahlen. I'm going to spend the next month learning about his life and telling his story {I seriously hope he was interesting!}.

This is probably super nerdy, but this could be a lot of fun to find out who he was and what his life was like. yeah, that is super nerdy.

Anywho, I'm sorry if this was incredibly boring, tomorrow there will be more fashion and fun!

okay, prepare yourself, I might completely creep you out in a second...

...I loooove walking around old cemeteries! Not in the creepy way (if thats possible) but the history just fascinates me. The older the cemetery, the better. Its just so interesting to me!

And when you first said "connect with someone who died at least 50 years ago" I definitely thought you meant a "lets hold hands and bring forth this person" type thing.
I was a bit creeped out.

Glad to see that it was a research project instead! haha. It sounds interesting, though! Can't wait to hear what you learn!

That is so neat! I love that you're connecting with the past. I'm a history major and I love finding out details of people's lives - important figures or day to day people like you and me. It's so important to know about those who went before us. Enjoy!

Mckenzie- I know what you mean by "connect" my classmates and I were a little leery of connecting with someone who had died! I'll have to post about what I learn! Thanks so much for your support!
