Contradictions

I've noticed recently I love contradictions. I love a perfectly mess bun or a high heels with jeans. I got a look of insanity when I told a 17 year-old girl I teach in Sunday school that black and brown go together. (Which is really just a proven fact these days!)

So sandals and a sweater just made me happy! This sweater from PinkBlush was a winter staple, but it's light weight so I've been able to wear it throughout the colder summer days as well. It's one of the few floral patterns I own so I want to get as much use out of it as I can! I've had these sandals for 5 years (woah, that made me feel old!) and I still can't get enough of them. They are one of my very few Target purchases that have stood the test of time. Maybe I need to start shopping at Target more!

What contradictions do you pair together?

Here are some more snakeskin sandal options, because I just couldn't stop myself!

I have been wracking my brain for weeks to find another way to wear this tunic. I only had one pair of leggings that matched it and I was tired of only wearing it one way because I love everything about this tunic! I finally decided that it needed a little adjustment to be worn with jeans and tucking the front under and having the back long was absolutely perfect for me.

I loved that I could pick up Benson, play on the ground with him and just go about my day normally without having to worry that my back was showing. I think tunics may now become my favorite shirts just for that reason.

Also, PinkBlush is doing a 70% off regularly marked items today only! Hurry, hurry!

My PinkBlush tunic (c/o), my jeans, my boots, my diaper bag (which I love and will be posting about soon!).

Be My Valentine

I'm so excited that I can wear this dress postpartum. You might recall it from this post. I'm so glad I picked it back when I was pregnant. It was such a fun way to accent my big belly then and I'm loving it now that my belly isn't quite so round.

Another thing I love about this dress is that it's a great year-round piece. I was a bit nervous that it could only be a summer dress, but it's the perfect piece for Valentine's Day as well! It's soft, it flows, it's lace and with some tights it's just right for February.

Speaking of V-Day. Are you guys doing anything fun? It's the day before and my husband and I have nothing planned. We've asked each other all week what we want to do and we've got nada. Any new moms have suggestions on how to celebrate the holiday with a 4 month old in tow? I feel like we can't go anywhere (because who wants to fight the crowds while carrying a car seat), but staying home is what we do all the time. Any ideas would be appreciated!!

Contradictions

Can we talk about how it's December and there is no snow on the ground? I'm in heaven, but it's also kind of weirding me out.

I've been meaning to pair this scarf with this jacket for quite some time now. I love the military green with the soft feminine look of the pink lace scarf. It's such a perfect contradiction.

I'm also pretty proud that none of these items are maternity or sweat pants. That's life kids. When you wear real jeans and don't feel like your "mommy pooch" (which is a real thing) is shouting at the world. I'm finally starting to feel like myself again and I really want to get back into working out. Do you guys have any good post-partum, post c-section workouts? I've pinned some, but let's be real who actually does anything they've pinned? ;)

Have a great weekend!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving! Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays! Each year Jason smokes a delicious turkey and I look forward to it every year.

This year I'm equally excited about my outfit. Every year I struggle with wanting to look cute and wanting to be comfortable for when I inevitably stuff my face. PinkBlush helped me create the perfect Thanksgiving outfit. The maroon (or oxblood or whatever we're calling it now), navy and mustard are the perfect fall colors and leggings are perfect for the post dinner turkey hangover.

I've never been big on Black Friday, but I'm kind of into this year. I've been checking out the deals online and I'm really excited about PinkBlush's sale. They're offering 40% off and free shipping within the US (use code BlackFriday40). I seriously love PinkBlush. Everything is super affordable and with 40% off it's a crazy good deal.

I feel guilty doing a Thanksgiving post without saying a little bit about what I'm grateful for (and I have a lot to be grateful for this year!). I'm so grateful for my little family. I'm grateful for Jason and for taking such good care of Benson and I. He's so helpful when I feel like I can't go anymore. He'll take over caring for Benson and let me rest. Speaking of Benson, I love my little man so much. I'm grateful for his smiles and coos and his overall cuteness! I'm so glad that he is in my life, he's making me such a better person and I'm just overflowing with love since he's been in my life.
