rhn Photo: Avery's blessing

A couple of weeks ago our little family made our first post baby trip. I was so nervous and I seriously overpacked (he wore 2 of the 5 outfits I brought) but it was so worth it. We have a long history with our friends Scotty and Stephanie and wanted to be there when they blessed their little girl into The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (a baby blessing is similar to a christening in the LDS church.)

Scotty and I grew up in the same area and became really good friends after high school. Stephanie and I were roommates and I (kind of) introduced the two of them the same semester Jason and I met. We got married within a month of each other and we've loved watching their family grow. Their oldest daughter Hailey is adorable. She's mixed mine and Jason's names up and I'm afraid that we're going to break her heart one day when she realizes I'm Rebekah not Jason. Hahaha.

Stephanie's family loves documenting big life events and she, her sister and their mom are all photographers, but I asked if Stephanie wanted me to snap a couple of photos of the family so that they could all enjoy the big day.

I was really excited to take these because I've been taking a photography class over the last six weeks and I really wanted to try out what I had been learning. I was so pumped when I uploaded the photos to my computes because none of the photos needed any edits. I am so excited about my progress that I wanted to share these classes with all of you (in case you aspire to be photographers as well.)

Katie Evans teaches some amazing classes on her website The Key To Pictures. My favorite thing about Katie is that she has a heart of gold. She wants to help everyone become the photographers they strive to be. In order to do this she has been offering free classes. Like 100% free.

It's an 8-15 minute class once a week and she teaches a quick lesson and then has a Q&A session. I took a photography class in college and I've still learned more from Katie than I did in that class, which I was so stoked about. (Also, I'd like the money from my college course back please!)

If you want to learn and soak up all of Katie's knowledge, all you need to do is ask to join the "Five Minute Focus" Facebook group. We've finished the basics of your DSLR camera, but Katie, being the angel that she is, has grouped all the lessons together and its still offering them for free.

Also, this is not a sponsored post. I just wanted to share this amazing opportunity with all of you, so that you can become just who you want to be.

rhn photo: Sanuy Family

I wanted to have another outfit post for you guys,
but I've been sick this week and anything other than
sweatpants and a hoodie has been too much work.
(I'm talking, I didn't get dressed once this week or even
put my contacts in)
So, instead I'm sharing another set of family photos I took
last month. Meet the Sanuys. We met, probably, a year
or two ago and now they have an adorable little boy.
His eyes are to die for.

a photoshoot contact me! headoverheels26.at.gmail.com)

rhn photo: fall photo shoots

I took some family photos for our friends a couple of weeks ago
and I finally finished all the editing. It's been a while since I've
taken photos of anyone other than myself, but I had a ton of fun!

The Echeverrias

I took Sofia's maternity photos, so taking their family
photos with little Landon actually here made it so fun.

The Perkes

This little girl captured my heart a long time ago.
Her parents are pretty spectacular too.

The Moncayos

Like Sofia, I remember when Marrisa found out she
was expecting. It's been fun to see her and Christian love
on their baby girl.
(also her bow. oh. my.)

Top 5 camera bag picks

1 // 2 // 3 // 4 // 5

Everyday when I go to work, I drag my laptop and my DSLR camera in with me.
I throw my camera in my purse and carry in my laptop bag along with my lunch.
It's getting to be utterly ridiculous how much crap I carry into work.
I have wanted a laptop/camera bag for a while now, but haven't
had the nerve to splurge on anything, so today I decided I'd
start taking a look at what the world wide web had to offer.

This bag is reasonably priced for being a laptop and camera bag.
I love the classic look of it and it comes in more than just chocolate.

I have been drooling over Epiphanie bags for over a year,
but they are so expensive that I just can't commit.
I love the look of this bag; it just makes me happy. I was
very tempted by the London Burnt Orange bag as well.

I love the Chevron detailing of this bag.
It is not a laptop/camera bag but it's big enough
that I think I could pull it off.

Again, this bag is all about the looks for me.
I go crazy for anything that is leather and stripes.
It's an addiction.
This is just a camera bag, but I think I could get away
with throwing my laptop in as well.

This is my budget pick.  It's not nearly as attractive as the
other bags, but it's definitely within my budget.
I don't think it's big enough for a laptop, but it is still a style I like.

Do you have a camera/laptop bag that you love? Please give me suggestions!

Mission Photos: Erica

Meet Erica! She is my old roommate and has just submitted her mission papers! I was so excited to take some photos for her to submit. She was a terrific model and I loved how her photos turned out!

I can't wait to here where she goes on her mission! Good luck Erica!

Engagements: Cory and Jill

Cory is Jason's old roommate and put up with us while we were engaged, so naturally I was excited for him to get engaged! I had a lot of fun taking his and Jill's photos. We went out in the freezing cold and my camera didn't want to work in those temperatures so we didn't get as many photos as I would have liked, but these are a few of my favorites.

Congrats Cory and Jill!

Photo session: Egbert Family

I took my first family photos last Saturday, and I've been so excited to share them with you guys! These are our good friends and their adorable three littles. Their daughter Sarah is the most photogenic little girl I've ever met. It was so fun taking their family photos {especially because they were the first family photos they've taken since having their third little, who has the bluest eyes ever!}
