Head over heels for heels

You guys. I got to wear heels yesterday. AND I didn't slip and die on ice. I was so excited when I realized that there wasn't any snow or sheets of ice on the ground and I could finally wear something other than my black or brown boots. Not that I don't love my boots, but sometimes all you want is to wear some fun colorful shoes that aren't all that sensible.

DownEast *CLOSED*

Cardigan: c/o DownEast, Dress; Fred Meyer, Belt: taken from another dress, Heels: Sears

Yesterday what literally the windiest day ever. I kept wanting to take outfit pictures, but didn't want to go out in the wind. Eventually I decided the wind wasn't going to die down, and that is why you see my Marilyn Monroe dress moment. Jason and I also went on a walk during the blustery day and I could feel the wind blowing my eyelashes back. Yeah. It was that windy.

Anywho, about my cardigan. DownEast contacted me a few weeks ago about doing a review and I had the hardest time trying to decide which item I wanted to review. I finally decided on this cardigan because of my not-so-secret obsession with stripes. Annnd I love it. I love that I can dress it up or down. I was debating how I wanted to style this cardigan when I realized it had a little bit of the varsity sweater look to it. I decided that I wanted to give it a little more 50s feel with a full skirt. I was super stoked with how it turned out.

Also, check back later this week for a DownEast giveaway!!

High Waisted Pants

Undershirt: Down East Outfitters Tank: F21 Shirt: H&M Pants: JC Penny Heels: Sears

I fear that in my return to blogging you might think I only wear high waisted pants. I promise I don't. It's just that my only cute outfits include high waisted pants. My other outfits include anything striped with jeans and hot pink flats.

Which reminds me, I should probably show you all my hot pink flats. Perhaps tomorrow.

Also, I didn't wear these shoes today because I had to trek all the way across campus and back. However, in my head I wanted these shoes with this outfit, so I wore them for the photo shoot.

Immediately after pictures I changed into sweats and my favorite Raisin Bran Crunch T-shirt that is cover in paint. It's fun being cute, but it's lovely being comfortable.

Springtime in the snow

Shirt: thrifted, Skirt: Dress Barn, Shoes: thrifted, Watch: Target, Red Braclet: gift
Other Bracelets: gifted, handmade

My cousin gave me this blouse and I've been dying to wear it!
I absolutely love all the colors, and I had a chance to wear my reddish/pinkish heels.
Downside to this outfit was it snowed, and it was a little colder than I had thought.
Plus side heels have built in ice picks that making walking somewhat easier.

A Christmas Sweater

Sweater: swapped, Pants: AE, Heels: Sears

Did you check out my fluffy kitty?

Last week was  our ward's Christmas party. Someone said it was an ugly sweater party, so I had to indulge. Jason picked this out for me in August at a clothing swap {and secretly wanted it for himself}. Of course I had to pair it with a good pair of five inch heels, so I couldn't run or walk or anything.

Also, check out our awesome gingerbread house. {do you see Santa on top?}

Farkle

Shirt: Down East Outfitters, Scarf: Borrowed, Skirt: Dress Barn, Slip: made by mom
Tights: Fred Meyer, Shoes: unkown

Have you ever played Farkle?
It's probably my favorite game ever.
It's very easy to play,
you roll 6 dice
and earn points from 1's, 5's or three of a kinds.
Basically it's all luck.

I usually kick butt at it.
But, last night I played with Jason and his sister Kaycee.
They kicked my trash.
And I got angry.
So they laughed.

It was all fun and games....
mostly.

I spy!

I hope that this I Spy! makes your Friday bright and warm,
because I'm currently freezing.

I love the fall color of these heels!
Jason was talking to me, and this girl walked past and I was staring at her shoes,
so Jason let me run off to take some pictures.
I have a good husband.
He understands that I get distracted by pretty shoes.

What else should I do on Saturdays?

I'm seriously considering getting my bangs cut like the girl in the last picture.
What do you think?

What are you pinning this week?

I spy

Do you know that feeling when you see someone across the room,
and you know you just have to meet them?
Well, I get that with a good pair of shoes.
These are a prime example.

Meet Courtney Moorehouse.
She has amazing taste in shoes.

I met her last Saturday at at Mary Kay party my friend invited me to,
and I knew instantly that I had to have her on my I spy.
With heels like that, there was no way I could pass the opportunity up.

I'm more of a silver girl, but the gold with the studs, is...spectacular.
I don't know what else there is to say.
I think the only thing that could do these heels justice is their own photo shoot.

Date Night

I love love love Fridays! Jason and I take a break from wedding plans, school work, stressing about finding a job {for me}, and everything else, and we go out for dinner, or put in a movie and relax. I'm especially excited for tonight because it has been a stressful week and Jason has a surprise evening planned for me.

I decided to try and dress up a bit for {whatever} he has planned for tonight. I'm quite excited! We'll have to see how it turns out!

The story behind today's shoes makes me quite happy. Last semester I got straight A's {yay me!} so I convinced my mom that she should buy me something pretty, and shiny to reward me. We went on a trip to Famous Footwear and I found perfect new black heels. I think shoes should always be rewarded for good grades {I'll get straight A's anytime for new shoes!}

Featured Shoes: Black heels from Famous Footwear

Why I love 'em: They are so classic, and go with anything.
